300 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher
and Purusha Yoga Therapist Certification
By completing the 300 hour Purusha Yoga Therapist and Advanced Certification and the 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training (either Purusha Yoga Teacher Training or any other Yoga Alliance registered program) you qualify to register with the Yoga Alliance and become a RYT 500 Certified Professional.
By the completion of your required modules you will have all of the tools of a professional life coach, personal trainer, health educator and yoga teacher. In addition to all of these tools you will also be given the opportunity to study one or more specialized elective modules of your own choosing.
Both the required and the elective modules provide you with additional specialty training that is rewarded with certification and recognition. In these courses you will be studying and learning from leading professionals that are experienced innovators in their own right and Certified Yoga Therapists.
As a student of the Purusha Yoga 500 Hour Advanced Certification you are entitled to many benefits. You will be part of a thriving community that is supportive, creative, and helpful in many ways. You can take advantage of free classes at the Purusha Yoga Studio in San Francisco, as well as being a part of our Free Yoga in the Park and other community events.
Many graduates take advantage of opportunities that are available through the Purusha Seva Project. This is our sister non profit organization that brings yoga, health education, expressive movement, and life skills to under served and at-risk populations.
As a Purusha Yoga Therapist and graduate of the 500 hour Advanced Certification Training you will be welcome to teach and become a facilitator through this and many other projects. One primary goal of this program is to train professionals that we need in the field. We are committed to providing you with business skills, professional coaching, and personalized attention throughout.
We welcome you to explore your deepest hearts desire toward creating a life where you are experiencing more than just a “job," more fulfilling than a “career," and ultimately provides a vehicle for you to express and share your life’s “calling."
Modules run from January - May 2012, with Electives in Spring and Summer 2012.
I - Healing Therapeutics: Intro to Purusha Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy Methods, 8 Steps of Transformation, Program Design and Coaching, Psychology, 5 Koshas, Kleshas, using the 8 limbs of Raja Yoga, stages and alliances of the therapeutic relationship.
III - Spiritual Warrior Studies and Life Coaching Practices Advanced practices for modern day spiritual warriors, understanding and utilizing ancient yoga texts in a modern world; Vedanta, Upanishads, Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and World Studies/connecting and understanding a multi-cultural world and great truths.
IV - Leadership, Business and Community Project
Leadership, Communication, Livelihood and Community Seva Project; Non-violent Communication, Working with underserved and at-risk populations in a professional and yogic way. Creating and manifesting a project of passion from start to finish. Social Marketing, Professional Ethics and skills.
V - Specialized Elective

Kids (including at-risk and underserved)
Yoga & Mental Health: PTSD (and Working with Veterans), Mindful Eating, and Addiction (alternative to traditional 12-Step Program)
You must complete all four required modules, plus one elective module of specialized study in order to receive certification.
All required and elective modules are 6 days (or 54 hours):
54 hours x 5 Modules = 270 Hours
To receive your Advanced Yoga Teacher and Purusha Yoga Therapist Certification you must complete an additional 30 hours of mentoring, assisting, and/or personal guidance with a primary teacher. Total Contact Hours: 300
There is an additional requirement of completing out-of-classroom work specific to each module, including:

You are qualified to register with the National Yoga Alliance as a 500 Hour RYT, and will have earned 700 Hours of education upon completion.
