Purusha Yoga School
Complete Required and Elective Modules

Thai Yoga Massage has been practiced in the temples of Thailand by Buddhist Monks for 2500 years. This unique practice combines assisted yoga postures, massage and the mindfulness of Metta (loving kindness) into a flowing dance of continuous rhythmic motion. Through this rhythmic dance, the giver experiences meditation in motion while the receiver is in a state of balanced energy and tranquility. Join us as we study, experience, and explore the unique benefits, techniques, and healing qualities of this ancient living art form. A certification of the “Foundations of Thai Yoga Massage” will be awarded upon completion of the workshop and practicum.

Through the Sutras of Patanjali and this system of self study you are invited on an adventure of a life time into the real heart and soul of who you are as an individual and what matters most to you as an individual.

Traditional Texts of Yoga
This teaching module will provide a deeper study and complete overview of The Vedas, The Upanishads, the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika with some mention of lesser Hatha Yoga texts. The discussion will center on the unique calculus of yoga in successive generations of yoga texts, integrating the cultural seed concepts provided by the Vedas. The largely mental yoga of Patanjali, the Bhakti/Karma/Raja yoga of the Bhagavad Gita, and the body-focussed yoga of the Hatha tradition all contributed to the development of the Modern Postural Yoga of contemporary milieus. This module gives prospective teachers confidence in their expression of the tradition, helping them to recognize how current elements of the practice—asana, pranayama, meditation, shatkarmas, chanting, etc.—contribute the current stage of yoga’s evolution.

Dates to be announced.
