Yoga for the Childbearing Year

An essential program for all yoga teachers, health professionals,
expecting mothers, doulas, midwives and labor coaches.
This course will allow you to design, implement and teach a holistic lifestyle yoga program for your prenatal and postnatal clients and students. By the end of the course you will understand and appreciate the most beautiful time in a women’s life and possess the skills and knowledge to be a greater part of this journey as well as assisting each mother in experiencing and creating the most rewarding, healthy and vibrant year of her life.
In this course you will:
- Study the phases of pregnancy from conception to postpartum in an experiential journey of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, biology, and psychology.
- Learn how to cater to the individual and common concerns of each of these phases
- Understand specific breathing exercises, physical postures, guided meditations, focus exercises, nutrition, lifestyle, and spiritual practices for each phase of pregnancy and to alleviate common concerns that may arise throughout the childbearing year.
- Be exposed to a process of teaching and guiding individuals on their path of motherhood with cues and assists that are specific to the needs of each person- utilizing conscious communication, verbal cueing, physical assists, and guided meditation techniques.
- Learn to utilize the 5 kosha holistic approach of classic yoga as a means of creating a multi-dimensional experience in group classes as well as with individual clients.
- Obtain business coaching as well as personal coaching as a means of assisting you with how you may best utilize the knowledge and skills you have gained in the course. You will also be exposed to several optimal models of business.
- Obtain the skills necessary to create a therapeutic and safe environment in order for your students and clients to thrive and be nourished.
- Experience a wide range of techniques and exercises that will enhance your knowledge and understanding of a holistic, therapeutic, and invigorating yogic practice.
This course will be led by Gina Iadarola
Gina is a lay midwife with over 25 years of experience and hundreds of home births for which she has been the primary attendant. She is also a professional occupational therapist and gifted yoga teacher. Gina brings a sense of keen knowledge and deep awareness to her midwifery and teaching. As an intuitive healer with profound abilities to 'read' her client’s needs and cater a path that is appropriate and most beneficial.
Gina is the mother of two grown children and lives in Sutton Massachusetts. She was the co-creator of Health in Motion, the parent company of Purusha Yoga, which thrives as a multi-dimensional health and wellness collective in Massachusetts.
Certification is rewarded with the completion of mentoring, apprenticeship, and practicum hours that are additional to these weekend 'group' hours. Details upon request.
