Fall 2013 Dates To Be Announced Soon Discover how to apply the healing practices of the 8 Limbs of Raja Yoga while working with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Veterans.
You will learn some of the causes of PTSD and how trauma might be experienced in a variety of populations. Gain insight and tools from the Purusha Yoga Therapy and holistic coaching method to alleviate common symptoms such as hyper-vigilance, insomnia, anxiety, difficulty concentrating, anger management, and mood swings, as well as potential secondary symptoms of trauma such as eating difficulties, substance abuse, moral injury, and issues of attachment/relationship.
This workshop is an elective module to the Purusha Yoga Therapy certification, and may be taken on its own as a complimentary certification for yoga instructors, health educators, or anyone looking to discover the many benefits of yoga for symptoms of PTSD and working with Veterans.

This course is part of the Purusha Yoga School's "Yoga and Mental Health Certification" Training, which also includes the following modules:
Joy Lynn graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in Child Development and Social Work, and currently works with multi-stressed youth and families in San Francisco.
She studied Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley in order to further her knowledge of the intersections of faith and spirituality with physical, emotional, and overall personal health. She is particularly interested in bringing the knowledge and skills of somatic awareness, emotional regulation, and nutrition to survivors of trauma.
