The Bhagavad Gita is a modern day guide to discovering your life's purpose, clarifying your intentions and developing a daily practice for holistic wellbeing. This course is for yoga practitioners, yoga teachers, and curious students interested in learning specific daily practices to enhance overall yogic lifestyle, including physical exercises, mindset, healthy eating, breathing, service, and relationship to your own truth and others. The Bhagavad Gita presents inquiries and specific practices that are in the forefront of modern times: Karmic Destiny, Emotional Intelligence, Space/Time/ Mind, Energy, Consciousness, Human Purpose, Peace/ Love and War. Some sample excepts from the ancient text:
"The wise should work without attachment, for the welfare of the society."
"Fear not what is not real, never was and never will be. What is real, always was and cannot be destroyed."
"The pleasure one enjoys from [spiritual] practice results in cessation of sorrow."
"Yoga is difficult for the one whose mind is not subdued."
"Little by little, through patience and repeated effort, the mind will become stilled in the Self."
Ultimately the Bhagavad Gita study is a means of developing mastery of yourself and your yoga practice, leading towards what the text calls "skillfulness in action". This is the quest of our hero, Arjuna. If you share in this quest we welcome you!
