Chakra Yoga Certification

FIVE SUNDAYS / 9:00-6:00 PM

September 23

October 14 & 28

November 11 & 25

The Ancient Yogic texts refer to the chakras (literally ‘wheels’) of energy within the body.

These pictures, drawings, and written practices are the oldest maps of the energy system ever discovered.

Each of the seven major chakra centers are related to specific physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic qualities. It is at each of these major locations that subtle forces and bodily functions merge to create a vortex or ‘center’ of potential healing and transformation.

The chakras are vital centers within an entire energy system that includes ‘nadis’ or energy channels.  These nadis or energy currents are utilized and ‘tapped’ into in many other healing modalities throughout Asia.  They are called meridians in Chinese medicine and marmas in Traditional Thai Body Work. In this course you will discover that every chakra is present in the entire body and field of consciousness as well.

Each chakra relates to a specific emotional, bodily system, organ, thought pattern, element, planet, color, flow of energy, stage of development and process of being. The Chakras quite literally provide a map of the entire universe within the human experience.

In this course you will learn specific conscious practices that will penetrate this multi-dimensional realm, as well as studying and exploring the following:

  • Ancient Vedic sources of the Chakras as well as texts from Tibet and Hatha.

  • Current Research on energy and healing, discoveries of the meridians and communication between the known systems of the body.

  • Therapeutic touch and communication techniques that facilitate accessing, understanding, and releasing deeply held emotional experiences in the physical body.

  • Eight specific Guided Meditations for the entire chakra system as well as each center.

  • Somatic bio-energetic movements from Osho, Body Mind Centering, Feldenkrais, Purusha and others that create safe space, and specific technique to motivate and allow the release of stored emotional trauma.

  • Physical postures for each chakra that include vinyasa, gentle flow, restorative, and yin.

  • Sound, mantra, breathing, and specific mode of touch for each chakra center.

  • Authentic movement and art as a means of allowing a pathway toward identifying, processing,  and expressing deep rooted emotions, creative energy, and deep conscious states.

  • Therapeutic practices to rest, rejuvenate, and replenish each of the seven chakras utilizing breath, restorative postures, conscious communication and lifestyle habits.

  • Neuromuscular re-education as well as re-patterning and biofeedback habits of the mind/body to communicate with other systems such as endocrine, immune, digestive and reproductive.
