Purusha Yoga is a community focused, heart centered teaching studio located in San Francisco’s Outer Richmond District. We offer a full schedule of daily classes led by a diverse group of experienced, inspired teachers who are not only interested in your safety and fitness, but in your holistic wellbeing. We use the classic 8 limb practices and philosophies of Hatha and Raja Yoga to open the mind, balance energy, move, inspire, and spark the imagination. By providing a variety of personalized services, movement, dance and fitness classes, we take the student beyond yoga and into holistic wellness and health.

Join us for a community workshop or event to open your body, heart and mind to a new practice. Indulge your senses, stimulate learning, meet new people or make it a date with a friend or partner. All of our workshops and events at Purusha Yoga Studio are open to the public and inviting to all.
Our retreats are designed to take care of you every step of the way and offer you opportunities to discover local culture, nature, the true giving spirit within yourself. Each retreat includes daily yoga practice with specialized focus, workshop time, private time, guided treks, spa options, great food and expanding community.
Dive in deeper with a dedicated weekly practice that delivers extraordinary results through personalized attention, specialized focus, and individualized instruction. Series meet weekly for one or two sessions with an expert teacher who will guide, coach, encourage, and gently push you into a new level of practice.

The word seva means “selfless action that serves community.” This path of yoga is committed to surrendering our actions to a higher purpose.
The Purusha Seva Project is committed to the journey of acquiring a deeper understanding of the health and healing benefits of classic Hatha/Raja yoga philosophy and practices. The Purusha Seva Project believes that Yoga, Meditation, and Yoga Therapy can provide a complementary and cost-effective method of alternative and preventive healthcare.
By developing innovative and cost saving programs that serve the people of our communities, and delivering such programs in an accessible and complimentary manner to existing services, the Purusha Seva Project seeks to create communities of healthy, flourishing people.

Purusha Yoga is a boutique studio located at 3729 Balboa St. in San Francisco's Richmond District.
We have two studio spaces used for classes and workshops, as well as a retail space stocked with yoga mats & accessories, refreshments, books, clothing, organic skin care products and assorted local offerings.
Purusha is within walking distance of multiple bus stops (18, 31, 31AX, 5, 5R) and we offer a $2 discount on drop-in classes when you walk, bike or bus to class.
Both free and metered street parking are available.
