Aiyisha graduated from Purusha 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in May 2016. She offers private yoga classes, Integrated Bodywork, and Somatic Movement Therapy by appointment. Aiyisha graduated from the Somatic Psychology program at CIIS in 2014 and from National Holistic Institute for Massage Therapy in 2008.
Alexandra is a Certified Yoga Master and a Certified Yoga Therapy Teacher. She graduated from the Crimea Institute of Practical Yoga (Ukraine)
Allie is certified in Level I Thai Yoga Body Work through Purusha Yoga School. She completed her Level I 200 hour teacher training and Level II 300 hour advanced teacher training with Purusha Yoga School in the Spring of 2014. In the spring of 2012, she brought her education and her teaching experience onto the yoga mat and earned her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Purusha Yoga. She is passionate about sharing with others the benefits that yoga has brought to her life.
Candace came to yoga in 2006, finding strength, clarity and joy in the practice. Her classes are upbeat and playful, while also being a supportive environment to stretch both physically and mentally. A writer, singer and enthusiastic traveler, Candace incorporates these passions into her yoga practice. She is a graduate of Purusha Yoga School’s 200 Hour Teacher Training.
The original appeal of yoga for her was the well-rounded physical workout and challenge that it provided. Realizing soon that it offered much more, she completed the 200-hour yoga teacher training, which greatly enhanced her practice and opened her up further to the vast possibilities for learning and creativity that yoga offers.
Eric Sparks is the co-owner of Purusha Yoga Studio and School in San Francisco, CA. Eric is a lead teacher of professional yoga trainings, yoga retreats, and a continuing education provider with the Yoga Alliance. Eric is known for his practical sense of body movement, flow, presence and command of intelligent practice.
Deciding to more fully commit to her practice, Gayle was fortunate to discover the Purusha Yoga studio, where, in one of life’s ‘when you’re ready, it will come’ moments, she completed both the 200 & 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training programs.
Hien is a graduate of the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training and a participant in the Yoga Therapy Training at Purusha Yoga Studio. She is grateful to be part of the warm, supportive and down-to-earth yoga community at Purusha and to be volunteering with the Purusha Seva Project at the re-entry centre at Healthright 360 and Yoga at the Golden Gate Park.

Jennifer has a dynamic style forged from 10 years of experience in various styles of yoga, bodywork and energy work. She holds two 200 hour yoga trainings, as well as specialty certifications in yoga for cancer, restorative yoga, Thai Yoga Massage, and meditation.
John is an advanced RYT-500 Yoga Teacher, Holistic Coach, Bodyworker, Group Facilitator and Community Builder. He possesses certificates in Traditional Thai Yoga Bodywork and Chakra Yoga Therapy.John’s firm belief in the effectivity of Yoga Therapy as complementary health care stems from his own experience and recovery from trauma. John is passionate about wellness, community building, and non-profit work. He serves on the board of directors of the Purusha Seva Project.
Joy is the co-owner and founder of Purusha Studio and School in San Francisco, CA. She has been leading workshops, retreats, and yoga teacher trainings for over 20 years, and is the founder of the Purusha Seva Project, a non profit organization that brings powerful yoga practices to under served and at risk populations throughout the Bay Area and the world.
In what she calls "a series of fortunate accidents" Kathleen found Purusha Studio and the 200 Hour YTT Training, and is in awe of and inspired by the community surrounding it.Strongly influenced by her passion for aerial arts, dance, sports and pole, she strives to assist others in strengthening the relationships they have with their own bodies and true selves.
Kristin Singer has been practicing yoga for over 20 years. She is currently participating in the Yoga Therapist and Advanced Yoga Training programs. In addition,Kristin is a volunteer and on the Board of Directors for the Living/Dying Project. A non-profit organization that pairs meditators with critically ill patients to assist them in having a conscious and spiritual death.
Laxman is a primary teacher at Purusha Yoga Studio where he received his 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2010, and where he continues to pursue his 500 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training certification to teach in the United States. He studied Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy in India and Nepal, and taught Yoga at an English Medium School in Kathmandu for seven years. He also led Yoga camps for village youth, worked with seniors, and was a mentor and spiritual advisor for patients at a drug rehabilitation clinic.
Lori Pim has always led an active lifestyle but found peace in the practice of yoga. She says: "I’ve had a 10+ year career in the hospitality industry and know the burdens and stress that comes in today’s demanding business world. I believe that it’s never too late to start something new and grow into the person you’re meant to be." Lori follows the 8 limb approach with a focus on breath and movement. Lori enjoys teaching people of all ages and stages in their life.
Lucia balances strength and softness in her teachings of Hatha Flow and Restorative Yoga, as well as in her Private Yoga Therapy and Thai Massage sessions. She is known for her warm and loving presence, and her ability to hold space for others in their experiences.
PJ first encountered yoga and meditation in graduate school, studying world literature and comparative mythology, and began practicing yoga seriously 8 years ago, exploring a number of different styles including hatha, restorative, yin and kundalini. He is an RYT-500 and graduate of the Purusha Yoga Therapy program, with additional certifications in Thai Yoga Massage and Aqua Kriya Yoga.
When she turned 50, Sherry vowed to try something new every year; first was surfing, everything after that was a physical yoga milestone, then came a 30 hour yoga assisting program, and at 57 Sherry completed 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Purusha, as well as the Purusha Pilates Teaching Certification Program and plans to continue her training. Sherry loves to be able to offer modifications and subtle alignment cues to help her clients feel better.
Tasi, is originally from Maui, Hi and has been practicing yoga for over 10 years. She completed the 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Purusha in 2014 and is currently enrolled in the 300hr program. Tasi was drawn to yoga as a way to find relief for stress and anxiety. It was through various yoga practices that she found a passion for restorative yoga where there is an opportunity to slow down the mind and body, connect with the breath and heart to experience release.
Valerie Starr was born and raised in the Bay Area. She is a San Francisco trained Yoga Teacher holding an E-RYT500 certifications with advanced training from Yoga Tree, Laughing Lotus, and Purusha Yoga. Valerie is passionate about alignment but also freedom in practice, creating spaciousness in body and mind. She has a focused way of creating classes that are nurturing, healing, challenging, and intriguing.
