Are you Interested in teaching yoga to kids? or an educator who wants to incorporate yoga into the classroom? do you love working with kids and just don’t know where to begin?

Teaching yoga to children is fun, rewarding, and at times, challenging! It requires patience, planning, and flexibility, as well as a vast toolbox of games, activities, and songs. Learn how to design an engaging class for kids that is founded upon the 8 limbs of yoga.

In this workshop, we will cover:

AM session:

  • stages of child development

  • age-appropriate games and activities

  • classroom management techniques

  • introduction to child anatomy and age-appropriate asana

  • community-building and social/emotional components of a class

PM session:

Learn how to use yoga to assist children and teens with a variety of diagnoses

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Autism

  • ADD/HD

  • Down Syndrome

  • Sensory Processing Disorder

  • Depression and Anxiety

These workshops are appropriate for yoga teachers, OT, PT, SP, caregivers, teachers, and others seeking to enrich the lives of children, including pediatric special need populations.

Meghan Hanebutt (RYT 200, M. Ed) has over a decade’s worth of classroom and yoga experience, working as a classroom teacher, an elementary school principal, a yoga instructor, a designer, a small business owner, and currently, an educational consultant and yoga teacher for kids. She believes in the power of conscious classroom community and works with educational teams to weave wellness and kindness into the threads of their daily routines. Gina Iadarola, MSOTR/L, C-IAYT, ADP, ERYT-500, YACEP has been an Occupational Therapist for over 38 years and is also a certified yoga therapist. She has worked in a variety of settings across the lifespan incorporating OT and yoga holistic principals of mind/body/spirit while balancing work, play, rest and spirituality to fully and passionately engage in meaningful and purposeful activities. She has helped over 1500 families in their childbearing years as a midwife, doula and childbirth educator. She is committed to teaching yoga/mindfulness and social/emotional intelligence to children and teens. Growing up a competitive swimmer helped Gina solidify a passion for wellness at a young age.  Gina and her sister, Joy Ravelli, founded Health in Motion in the mid 1980’s. Gina and her husband of 39 years joyfully raised their children and are now proud grandparents. She believes all beings deserve to live their lives to their fullest potential happily!
