Our Yoga Therapy School’s mission is to provide professional training and certification to those seeking to share yoga practices in a therapeutic and holistic way using the five kosha approach toward addressing health and balance throughout all dimensions of the human experience, including physical, mental/emotional, intellectual, energetic and spiritual. Within our Holistic Yoga Therapy program there exists a consistent pedagogy of service to all ages and stages of life, trauma recovery, at-risk and underserved populations, and holistic and complimentary health care with respect to the common core of decency and human spirit that is shared by all individuals.
Our program's Holistic Yoga Therapy is based on the classic yoga philosophy as it is presented in the Vedas, Upanishads, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutras, and Bhagavad Gita. It also has a strong emphasis on subtle energy from Tibetan Mysticism and the chakra system. The program addresses the complete human experience through the five kosha holistic model, including physical, mental/emotional, wisdom, energetic, and spiritual levels of existence. Our goal is to gently guide individuals toward exploring, discovering, and expressing their unique truth, and understanding how to share this truth with all sentient beings throughout the world. This is achieved through the use of classic yoga practices and modern methodologies as taught by Western psychology, somatic experiencing, exercise science, emotional growth, and human potential. Our Holistic Yoga Therapy includes basic Ayurveda skills, Thai Yoga, therapeutic asanas, meditation, yoga lifestyle and trauma recovery. Purusha Yoga is strongly based in Hatha and Raja yoga as well as human potential. We train our students to understand and have a strong aptitude to address all stages of life and serve all people, especially those who would not otherwise be exposed to these practices such as underserved and at-risk populations.
